Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark is primed to return on Wednesday vs. the Golden State Valkyries after a five-game absence due to a left groin injury.

Clark participated in the full practice for the first time since her injury on June 24, putting her on track for clearance. If all goes well, she’ll be on the floor.

“It’s nice to get back out there and get into the flow of playing with my teammates,” Clark said. “I hope to get back out there and just feel things again.”

During her absence, the Fever went 3-2, including a win against the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup finale.

This season has been tough for Clark, who has already missed 10 of 18 games. She previously sat out five games last month due to a left quad injury.

Regarding her minutes against the Valkyries, Clark expressed uncertainty: “I hope to play a decent amount — in the upper 20s. It depends on how I feel and what the team needs.”

Clark shined with 32 points in her return from the quad injury but averaged only 14 points over the next four games. This season she’s averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists.

With just five games remaining until the All-Star break, she will serve as team captain for the upcoming game in Indianapolis, alongside Napheesa Collier, with selections made Tuesday night.
