FAIRFAX, Va. -- In a pulse-pounding encounter, Shakira Austin netted 15 points, sealing the game for the Washington Mystics with two clutch free throws in the final seconds to secure an 81-79 victory over the Chicago Sky on Tuesday at George Mason University.

Despite missing two crucial free throws with less than a minute remaining, Austin capitalized with a driving layup to give Washington a 79-77 lead. After Angel Reese tied the game with free throws, Austin’s follow-up sealed the win, as Rachel Banham couldn’t convert a half-court shot at the buzzer.

Sonia Citron made a late surge, scoring eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter, while Kiki Iriafen recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, matching rookie records held by Chamique Holdsclaw. Brittney Sykes also contributed 11 points.

On the other side, Reese shone for the Sky, finishing with 22 points and 15 rebounds, marking her sixth consecutive game with 15-plus rebounds—a new WNBA record. Elizabeth Williams chipped in with 20 points, while Banham and Ariel Atkins added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
